ISRAEL UNDER SIEGE: Wave of Palestinian terrorism hits Israel

While there’s a lot going on with Russia inside Syria, a wave of Palestinian Muslim terrorism has hit Israel in the last 24 hours. It’s actually something that’s been going on for over a week, but it’s escalated in the last 24 hours and the Jerusalem Post has been live blogging the incidents as they are reported. Here’s several of the more egregious ones:

Palestinian rioters attempted to ambush an Israeli motorist stuck in traffic outside the West Bank town of Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem on Wednesday. Police reported that the rioters had erected a barrier of stones and threw rocks at motorists, including the Israeli woman whom they tried to forcefully pull from her vehicle. Another person was hurt and seven other vehicles sustained damage during the incident, according to police.

An Israeli man shot a knife-wielding female terrorist after being stabbed from behind at Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate in the Old City. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transferred to an area hospital, he said. The terrorist, who is in serious-to-critical condition, has also been hospitalized.

A suspected terrorist stabbed an IDF soldier before snatching his gun in the southern city of Kiryat Gat, initial reports say. A police spokesman said that, upon initial investigation, the suspect approached an armed IDF soldier after stepping off of a bus and attempted to snatch his weapon. The soldier resisted his assailant and as a result of the struggle sustained a light stabbing wound to his head. The suspect continued with the snatched weapon to an adjacent residential building, where he took refuge until being confronted and shot down by police forces minutes later.

“I thought my life was over,” said Kiryat Gat woman recalling the moment a terrorist charged into her house after he stabbed an IDF soldier.

A police officer sustained a head injury after rocks were thrown at Israel Police and Border Police at Hospice Junction in the Old City of Jerusalem. Police arrested two suspects, who are minors, in relation to the attack.

A Palestinian vehicle tried to break through the A-Zaim security checkpoint near Ma’aleh Adumim in an attempt to run over security forces on Wednesday, the IDF reported. IDF soldiers at the scene fired at the vehicle and apprehended the driver.
The suspected terrorist is currently in moderate condition.

Because of all this, Netanyahu has cancelled his trip to Germany on Thursday:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled a trip to Germany planned for Thursday, German government sources told Reuters, as tensions rise between Palestinians and Israelis after about 10 days of violence. An Israeli official confirmed the cancellation, citing the security situation.

Netanyahu also had thoughtful words for his people:

Israeli citizens are on the front lines in the war on terror, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following a meeting at the Jerusalem district police headquarters. “I want to commend the poise and courage of the citizens of Israel over the past few days and also today, in Jerusalem and Kiryat Gat,” he said. Netanyahu emphasized that the best way to defeat terrorism is to cut down it’s main goal of spreading fear by maintaining composure and national resilience. “We have already experienced difficult times and we will also overcome this wave of terrorism with determination, responsibility and unity,” he added.
